The American Friends of the VU Medical Center Foundation Amsterdam disbursed $104,800 to support research on ‘vanishing white matter’, a rare genetic and progressive disease which affects the brain and leads to deterioration, handicap and early death. Stichting VU medisch centrum Fonds (Netherlands), the recipient of the grant, is also at the forefront of research in Alzheimer’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis.
