Vaux-le-Vicomte receives grant for restoration works

June 21, 2019

The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte (France) was built in 1661 by three geniuses: architect Louis le Vau, painter Charles Le Brun and landscaper André Le Nôtre. The project was commissioned by Nicolas Fouquet, minister of finance of Louis XIV. Over 300,000 visitors enjoy this exceptional landmark each year. A $229k grant from its American Friends of Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte will support the restoration of sculptures and paintings.
