Since its founding in 1993 by Marguerite Barankitse, Maison Shalom has restored the dignity of more than twenty thousand war and AIDS orphans, street children, youth in prison, and impoverished children in Burundi and Rwanda, providing them with a shelter, quality education, and hope for a better future.
