African Prisons Project opens access to fair hearings
February 5, 2020
The African Prisons Project initiates widespread reforms in the criminal justice system in Kenya and Uganda. The Project empowers prisoners and prison staff, encouraging them to become lawyers and paralegals who uphold the rights of the marginalized. A $494,234 grant from its African Prisons Project US Fund will be used towards its goal of providing one million people access to a fair hearing by 2030.
